Armed Teachers Not Likely in Union – The Missourian: Union

When seconds count, law enforcement is minutes away…

There won’t likely be any teachers carrying weapons at Union public schools even though a veto in Jefferson City makes armed employees more of a possibility. That is according to Union R-XI Superintendent Steve Bryant who said there isn’t a need here for trained school personal carrying weapons.Bryant told The Missourian that law enforcement officers and first responders in Union and Franklin County are among the best trained in the country, therefore there is no need to arm teachers in the district.

  1. Yay! Think of all of the money the school board will save in Fire Extinguishers and sprinklers. Almost a third of a school’s cost goes to fire retardant materials.

If you have the best trained first responders in the country, you won’t need any of it.
