TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)– A new program is preparing Leon County Schools for deadly situations.
Each school sent two representatives, mostly made up of principals and administrators, and campus resource officers to an event at the Tallahassee Automobile Museum learn how to respond to an emergency situation.
The goal of the training was for everyone to learn how to use the Virginia Threat Model when faced with a possible school shooting or other violent situation. The model comes after the deadly shooting at Virginia Tech. Leon County will be the first county in the state to use it.
