The sentiment in question is probably best represented in the comments of a retired teacher, aired in a local television news interview.  Said Bill Turner, “There could be a teacher out there…retired military, retired policeman…that I certainly could trust.  But on the whole, most teachers are not equipped for that job.”  Again, this gentleman is not the only person I heard express such thoughts.

Give me a damn break.

That is the biggest, smelliest, steaming pile of manure I ever heard  A teacher can’t handle it?  Why the hell not?  Are teachers somehow less intelligent, less capable, or less competent than anyone else who might carry a concealed firearm?  Never mind that the POST program would provide more than five times as much training as is required for anyone else to obtain a Kentucky concealed carry license…a teacher is still deemed to be incapable?
